The Challenge

Complicating matters further were multiple phone lines, stone walls, and other obstacles that made access and removal much more difficult. To carry out the job safely and efficiently, a full road closure was required—adding pressure to complete the work as quickly as possible to minimise disruption to local residents and road users.
The Solution
To meet the challenge head-on, we brought in the big guns:

A mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) allowed our team to safely access the highest branches without the need for time-consuming climbing.

A 100-foot Hiab crane enabled us to carefully lower branches and large sections of timber directly onto the road below with full control.
This setup drastically reduced the time required and ensured safety remained a top priority throughout the operation.
On the Ground - Our Tree Surgeons process
Once each section was safely on the ground, our ground crew got to work immediately:

Smaller branches were processed using our high-capacity wood chipper.

Larger sections of timber were lifted using the Hiab or our ever-reliable orange Unimog, then loaded onto our tractor and trailer for speedy removal of the tree.
The Outcome
Thanks to the careful planning, skilled teamwork, and heavy-duty equipment, the entire tree removal project was completed in just two days—restoring road access and peace of mind to the local community with minimum disruption.
